Are sickness absence frequencies in the study of EU countries underestimates?

The paper by Gimeno et al provides a comparison of sickness absence between 15 European Union (EU) countries.1 According to this study, 14.5% of employees were absent at least one day in the past 12 months by an accident at work, by health problems caused by the work, or by other health problems.
