Effects of metallic elements on reproduction and development
2021, Handbook on the Toxicology of Metals: Fifth EditionHeat stress response of somatic cells in the testis
2021, Molecular and Cellular EndocrinologyCitation Excerpt :Similarly, reversible damage to sperm parameters is observed in metal alloy steel welders following moderate exposure to a strong level of hyperthermia (Bonde, 1992). Hjollund et al. (1998) found a lower fertility among smoking welders than among non-smoking welders, likely reflecting their present and past welding exposures. In these studies, accompanying conditions, such as smoking or heavy metals, could be contributory to the infertility.
