  • Maternal thyroid-stimulating hormone level in the first trimester and sex ratio at birth

    2019, Endocrine Practice
    Citation Excerpt :

The sex ratio at birth (SRB: ratio of live male births to total births) is not always static. Many factors impact the SRB, including geographic latitude (1), natural and man-made disasters (2,3), parental age (4), parity (5), periconceptional smoking (5,6), maternal diet (7,8), blood pressure (9), and endocrinologic disorders such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia (10). Previous studies have confirmed that thyroid dysfunction (or disease) is associated with multiple adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as spontaneous abortion, preterm birth, and operative vaginal delivery (11,12).
