OEM's Journal impact factor (IF) has been rising steadily since 2003 and the latest data released in June show that trend continuing. The Journal's IF for 2009 is 3.643. This is again the highest IF the Journal has ever achieved and it represents a near doubling over 6 years. OEM has also continued to advance within the group of about 120 journals covering public, environmental and occupational health: OEM is now 14th in the category and remains the only occupational health specialist journal in the top 20.

The average number of times that papers in OEM are cited has also continued on the upward trend we reported last year.1 In 2009, the average paper in OEM was cited 48.5 times, more than three times the citation rate in 2003. Part of the increase in citations …
