Biomass-derived materials: Promising, affordable, capable, simple, and lightweight microwave absorbing structures
2022, Chemical Engineering JournalCitation Excerpt :On the one hand, electronic devices developed facilitating our lives, on the other hand, military fields including radars, horrible microwave weapons, mind-controlling technologies, and so on have established a new type of hazard [1,2]. Besides health diseases consisting of neurological damage, genotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, brain tissue injury, carcinogenicity, etc., other harmful effects of electromagnetic pollution have been detected, comprising climatic and environmental changes as well as electromagnetic interferences which bring a huge burden to the society [1,3–10]. Thus, conventional microwave absorbers have been numerously architected based on their magnetic and dielectric loss abilities [11–13].
Genotoxic effects of electromagnetic field radiations from mobile phones
2022, Environmental ResearchCitation Excerpt :The same population of individuals revealed a decline in Mn-SOD and catalase activities and a rise in the lipid peroxidation in their serum after exposure to PD of 0.037–12/20 mW/cm2 (Gulati et al., 2018). The frequency of micronuclei and chromosome aberrations (chromatid breaks, chromosome breaks, acentric fragments, and dicentrics increased significantly in the HPBLs exposed to 7.7 GHz EMF-RF (PD 0.5, 10, and 30 mW/cm2) continuously for 10, 30, and 60 min depending on the PD and exposure duration (Garaj-Vrhovac et al., 1992). Exposure of HPBLs to 2450 MHz (pulsed at 50 Hz) EMF-RF (PD 80 mW/ml, SAR 75 W/kg) for 30 and 120 min resulted in a significant rise in the acentric fragments, dicentric chromosomes, and micronuclei (Maes et al., 1993).
Graphite-like carbon nitride (g-C<inf>3</inf>N<inf>4</inf>): A promising microwave absorber
2022, Ceramics InternationalCitation Excerpt :Fig. 1 depicts microwave absorption inside a realistic brain model at a frequency of 2 GHz [5]. Till now, over 32 diseases derived from the microwaves consisting of genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, brain tissue injury, reproductive toxicity, neurological damage, and so on have been reported, thus, widespread microwave absorbing and shielding materials have been developed to refine the environment from these hazardous waves [8–15]. Impedance matching is the checkpoint of an absorber clarifying its ability to welcoming the incident waves, dealing with the skin depth.

2020, Journal of Alloys and CompoundsComparing DNA damage induced by mobile telephony and other types of man-made electromagnetic fields
2019, Mutation Research - Reviews in Mutation ResearchCitation Excerpt :The number of published peer review studies showing DNA damage and related effects induced by Radio Frequency (RF)/microwave Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), especially by Mobile Telephony (MT) EMFs, on a variety of organisms/cell types under different experimental conditions is increased considerably in recent years [1–36], in spite of attempts to dispute some of them [37–39].
