In a meta-analysis of 23 cohort studies including 250,816 workers in the petroleum industry, there were 205 deaths from MM, whereas 220.9 were expected.100 In a meta-analysis case–control study, Sonoda et al101 reported that benzene or organic solvents decreased the risk of MM.
