Assessment of occupational risks In Turkish manufacturing systems with data-driven models
2019, Journal of Manufacturing SystemsCitation Excerpt :Ceylan [33] has drawn attention to very young and inexperienced workers who work for the electricity generation-transmission and distribution sector, and employees who are older are in risk groups for occupational accidents. Nag and Patel [35] analyzed the accidents in the Indian textile industry and found that 60% of accidents occurred in the first half of the morning shift and 57% of accidents occurred in the second half of the night shift. As is understood from the studies that were carried out in the literature, it is obvious that male employees have an important role in occupational accidents in the manufacturing industry and in the construction sector.
Prediction of work-related accidents according to working conditions using support vector machines
2011, Applied Mathematics and ComputationCitation Excerpt :According to the model, those workers who have a very uncomfortable seat are more frequently victims of an occupational accident, as well as those who report neck or upper back discomfort due to physical strain. This point can be explained by the connection between physical discomfort, fatigue, risk and, finally, accident occurrence, as has been shown in different contexts by various authors [52–58]. Another group of interesting variables are those related to psychosocial or stressing factors: P34_2 (Psychosocial possibilities: can get help from boss if asked), P34_11 (Psychosocial possibilities: considers job emotionally demanding) and P45 (Fit between working hours and family or social commitments).
