OEM’s impact factor reaches a new high

Readers and authors alike will be pleased to know that the impact factor (IF) of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) has risen to 2.817 in 2007, from 2.255 in 2006. (The IF is a bibliometric index which measures the citation frequency of articles contained in a journal, standardised according to its number of published, potentially citable articles.)

This is the highest IF the journal has ever had and represents the fourth consecutive year in which the IF has marched upwards. It is now over 50% higher than in 2003.
